Babylist is looking for a Backend Engineer to join our new Babylist Financial Systems team. This person will work on critical initiatives for Babylist such as Order to Cash, Revenue Recognition and Procure to Pay. The role is also central to the integrations between our proprietary app and our Enterprise software applications that serve our finance, accounting, inventory planning, and warehouse ops teams.

Play a key role in consistently advising the team on pragmatic technical approaches to problems that encourage engineering excellence and developer happiness. Structure coherent and iterative actionable plans toward delivering effective solutions across the planning surface. Plan ahead by strategically architecting scalable web APIs, component libraries and backend systems that serve the team roadmap goals.

In this role, you'll lead development initiatives, contribute to our SaaS products, and tackle exciting challenges in backend architecture, frontend design, and AI/ML integrations with a particular focus on generative AI technologies. Responsibilities include SaaS Application Development Detection and Protection, AI/ML and Algorithm Development, DevOps & Operationalization, and Future-Focused Development.

Take a key role on the United States location-neutral team and work on large scale refactors, scaling issues, and problems that traditional teams struggle to tackle. You will be responsible for overseeing architectural direction and providing feedback on architectural plans, while working with the systems experiencing the most technical liability directly to remove the liability. You will have the opportunity to unlock new ideas and solutions for our products.
